The most awaited smartphone from LG, the new LG G6 finally launched at the MWC event in Barcelona. With the tag line ‘Big Screen. Small Phone.’ LG G6 packs some outstanding specs.
“The LG G6 offers users new visual and manual experiences, as it marries an expanded screen with the convenience of one-handed use,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “LG will continue to lead smartphone innovation with a focus on convenience and reliability in order to exceed consumer expectations.”
The new LG G6 feature 5.7-inch QHD+ (2,880 x 1,440) FullVision display with 18:9 screen aspect ratio rather than 16:9 aspect ratio displays. The Metal design of the smartphone imparts solidity in style with a soft matte finish and narrow bezels. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB RAM. User get to choose 32GB ROM and 64GB ROM model with both models supporting MicroSD card upto 2TB.
Coming to the camera, LG G6 sports dual 13MP rear cameras with 125-degree wide angle lens. Rear camera have dual tone LED flash. The G6 also comes with an expanded 100-degree field of view with its 5MP front camera. The front camera features Gesture shot and Auto shot which detects face and snaps the photo.
The LG G6 is IP68 IP68 water and dust resistance. The smartphone has Google Assistant built-in. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The G6 is the first smartphone to feature Dolby Vision technology. Users will also get the US$200 games which includes 6 games – Temple Run 2, Spider-Man Unlimited, Crossy Road, SimCity BuildIt, Cookie Jam and Genies & Gems.
The new G6 comes with the black, platinum and white color options. Pricing and availability of the smartphone is still not announced.
