Along with the launch of company’s first 2-in-1 tablet, Alcatel also announced pair of affordable smartphone at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. Alcatel Idol 4 and Idol 4S will be the successor of the Idol 3 smartphone.
“The IDOL 4 series marks another milestone in ALCATEL innovation,” said Dan Dery, Chief Marketing Officer at ALCATEL. “The Boom Key boom-ifies everything, from the sound to photos to gaming.”
Alcatel Idol 4 series offers some pretty and interesting features. Company mentioned that the user-interface of the device even works upside down. Also it has sound system which is supported by Waves and JBL. The Alcatel goes one step ahead in the packaging of the device. Smartphone package can be used as VR goggles for the incredible Virtual Reality experience.
The other Highlighted feature of the smartphone is Boom Key which delivers an innovative user experience by offering custom-made features for different tasks. The company teased the features as Boom my camera, Boom my gallery, Boom my videos, Boom my music, Boom my game and Boom my view.
Looking at the specification, Alcatel Idol 4 features 5.2-inch FHD (1080 x 1920) display. It is powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz and 1.2 GHz coupled with 3 GB RAM. Device comes with 16GB built-in memory and MicroSD card support (up to 512 GB).
Alcatel Idol 4 sports 13 megapixel rear camera with Dual-toned LED flash. Smartphone will also equipped with 8 megapixel front-shooter with flash. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it will be backed by 2610 mAh battery.
The other high-end device, Idol 4S features 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560) display. It is powered by Octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz and 1.4 GHz coupled with 3 GB RAM. Device comes with little higher 32GB built-in memory and MicroSD card support (up to 512 GB).
Alcatel Idol 4S will equip 16 megapixel rear camera with Dual-toned LED flash. Smartphone will sports equipped with 8 megapixel front-shooter with flash. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it will be backed by 3000 mAh battery.
For connectivity both smartphone offers 4G Cat 4 network along with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Micro USB 2.0 high speed and USB OTG support. Smartphone will be available in four different metal frames: Gold, Dark Gray, Rose Gold and Metal Silver. Alcatel also included JBL headphone in the box.
