At CES 2016, Dell announced new Latitude series laptops and 2-In-1 along with newly designed monitors. The new Latitude devices are thinnest and lightest notebooks. Dell also introduced the first OLED monitor along with World’s first InfinityEdge monitors and Wireless monitors.
On Wednesday at CES 2016, Dell’s vice president and general manager, commercial client solutions, Kirk Schell said ” For more than 20 years, Latitude products have been a leading choice among commercial customers worldwide for their unmatched security, manageability, reliability and support features, With the new Latitude line, we are delivering commercial devices employees will desire for being thinner, lighter and more capable than many of the most popular consumer products without compromising on the security and manageability requirements of IT. ”
Dell introduced three new notebook laptops under its latitude family: Latitude 13 7000, Latitude 12 7000, Latitude 11 5000.
The Dell Latitude 13 7000 Series Ultrabook features 13 inch screen. It is designed with unidirectional 40 ton carbon fiber layers. The material used is originally use in spacecraft and aerospace. It is the only Ultrabook with InfinityEdge display. Dell Latitude 13 7000 comes with USB Type-C which allows one cable for docking, power, video, audio and data. It also includes Thunderbolt™ 3 for 8x faster data transfer than USB 3.0. This features allows users to power two 4K displays simultaneously. For security the device has built-in smartcard reader, fingerprint reader, RFID reader, and security and encryption software. It will be available beginning early March 2016 starting at $1,299.
Dell Latitude 12 7000 2-In-1 features 12.5 inch display. Company claims that it is the lightest 2-In-1 available at this screen. The device-design is free of cumbersome latches, locks or alignment pins, and instead uses magnets. The Dell Latitude 12 Premium Keyboard connects to the tablet, and features backlit keys and mouse cursor control with a high precision, gesture touchpad. It will be available beginning early February 2016 starting at $1,049.
Dell Latitude 11 5000 Series 2-in-1 is a thin and light 10.8-inch 2-in-1. As Dell stated It offers IT and business professionals alike robust security and manageability capabilities, including comprehensive encryption, advanced authentication, cutting-edge malware prevention, and automated and streamlined system deployment, monitoring and updating. It will be available beginning early February 2016 starting at $749.
