Lenovo launched two ThinkServer in India

Lenovo launched two new servers in India, ThinkServer TS140 and ThinkServer RD450. ThinkServer TS140 is a Tower server,while RD450 is Rack server. Pricing of the servers are still not mentioned.

ThinkServer TS140 features Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3 series processors. It comes with 4 PCI/PCIe slots and 4U Tower. Noise of the system reduced by 40 percent to 26 decibels. It also supports Windows Server 2012 R2 Platform. Memory can be expanded upto 32GB and it was globally priced at $674.10.

“We are extremely happy to be launching the first ThinkServer in India – a small step as we move towards becoming a market-leader in enterprise solutions by 2020,” said Siddhesh Naik, Director of Enterprise Business Group at Lenovo. “With TS140 and RD450 we aim to take the legendary Think engineering to new age Indian small businesses who are looking to build their first DIY server compute cluster, or a software defined storage cluster, or even managed service providers looking for a whisper-quiet machine”.

The other ThinkServer RD450 is powered by Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 Series processors. It comes with 16 slots with upto 512GB memory. The RD450 is a dual-socket, 2U server. It also comes with options like 3 Redundant fans with 1 processor or 4 redundant fans with 2 processors

Lenovo said it expects about 20-25 percent of its server revenues to come from the government vertical on the back of initiatives like Digital India. The company currently gets about 12-13 per cent of its revenues from the government sector in India.
