India’s No. 1 smartphone brand, Xiaomi launched the smartphone under its affordable Redmi series. The new Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be the part of ‘Make in India’ initiative and price starts from Rs. 5,999. The first flash sale will be on 7th Dec and it will be available online at Mi.com and Flipkart.
Xiaomi teased about the new smartphone as ‘Desh ka smartphone’ last week. Along with the launch of Redmi 5A, Xiaomi also announced that the first 5 million units of Xiaomi Redmi 5A (2GB+16GB) will be priced at Rs. 4,999. The successor to the successful Redmi 4A is very much identical. During the launch, Xiaomi compared the smartphone with the rivalry Samsung J2 and Moto C Plus.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A
The specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A is similar to the Redmi 4A. The device comes with 5-inch HD(1280×720) display. It comes with a matte finish at the back and overall design is also similar. The smartphone also powered by sameSnapdragon 425 Quad-core processor. It comes with 2 RAM variants (2GB+16GB) and (3GB+32GB). This time Xiaomi has given an extra dedicated slot for MicroSD card with 128GB expandable storage.
The camera of the Redmi 5A is also not changed. It sports 13MP rear camera with 5P lens and f/2.2 aperture. The 5MP front-facing camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and face recognition. The device runs on MIUI 9 out of the box. Xiaomi Redmi 5A is backed by 3000 mAh battery.
Redmi 5A supports Dual-SIM 4G VoLTE connectivity. The device also comes with IR blaster which works as a remote controller. The device will be available in Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey colour options. The 3GB+32GB variant will be available for Rs.6,999.
