On Tuesday, Motorola launched its new Droid series smartphones alongside the all new Moto ShatterShield™ technology. Motorola Droid Turbo 2 with Moto ShatterShield™ technology — the world’s first smartphone with a shatter-proof display, available exclusively from Verizon. The other smartphone Motorola Droid Maxx 2 is build for the mid-range market.
Motorola Droid Turbo 2 features 5.4-inch Quad HD display with 540 ppi. It is powered by a Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 810 processor with 2.0 GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 430 @ 600 MHz GPU, coupled with 3GB of RAM. Droid Turbo 2 comes with 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.
Motorola Droid Turbo 2 runs on Android™ 5.1.1 Lollipop. Turbo 2 sports 21MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture,Phase Detect Auto-Focus (PDAF), Closed loop processing, Color Correlated Temperature (CCT) flash with dual LEDs.It can also record 1080p HD video (30fps) and
4K video (30fps). It comes with 5MP front camera with flash.
Droid Turbo 2 is provided with 3760 mAh battery which provides up to 48 hours of battery life. Company also claims that it is the world’s fastest charging smartphone which can give up to 13 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging.
For connectivity Droid turbo 2 feature Micro USB, 3.5 mm headset jack. It comes with WiFi connnectivity of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz with MIMO. It sports nano-sim .
Moto ShatterShield’s display technology is an integrated system consisting of five-layers designed from materials that absorb shock from impact and are proven not to crack or shatter. The integrated system maintains touch performance and structural integrity over the life of the Droid Turbo 2.
Coming to the other smartphone launched in the event,Motorola Droid Maxx 2 comes with 5.5” 1080p Full HD Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 display with 403 ppi. It is powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 615 with 1.7GHz Octa-core CPU and Adreno 405 @ 550 MHz GPU, paired with 2 GB RAM. Droid Maxx 2 comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2 will be available in 4 different colors : Black Soft Grip, White Soft Grip,
Grey Ballistic Nylon, Black Pebbled Leather. While Droid Maxx 2 will be available in 2 colors : Black with Deep Sea Blue Back, White with Winter White Back.
Like all Droid phones, the Motorola Droid Maxx 2 and Droid Turbo 2 are Verizon-only. There’s no word on international availability just yet. Droid Maxx 2 will be available in the United States at a price point of $384 (roughly Rs. 25,000) off-contract starting later this month. While Droid Turbo 2 will be available in the United States at a price point of $624 (roughly Rs. 40,000) off-contract starting 29 this month.
